Lawnton Plumbing Questions
Most phone questions come down to four things: cost, response time, what we are licensed to touch, and why this suburb's pipes behave as they do. The full service list lives on Lawnton Plumber, and the answers below are the short version of those conversations.

If your question is about a specific job, find the trade it belongs to first: emergency plumbing, general plumbing, drainage and hot water.
How does pricing work before the job starts?
You get a fixed quote before any work starts, and the price you approve is the price you pay, settled by card or EFTPOS on site once everything is working and tested.
What payment can I use when the work is finished?
Card and EFTPOS both work on site, so nothing is left owing after the job; if anything about the work needs discussing first, we do that before a tool comes out.
Can a plumber get to me the same day?
Same-day where we can: call early and we do our best to have someone there that day, because a van is generally already working the streets around the railway station.
Which suburbs does your run cover?
Petrie, Murrumba Downs, Strathpine, Bray Park and Bald Hills all sit on the regular run around the river junction, and we are on every street of Lawnton itself most weeks.
What does your licence cover?
Licensed plumbing and gasfitting under QBCC No: 15024607 covers plumbing, drainage and gas work, so one visit can sort a leaking tap and a faulty cooktop connection together in one booking.
Do you replace hot water systems or only repair them?
We do both: we repair valves, elements and burners, and we size and install full replacements, which many homes here now need as their original tanks reach the end of their life.
Who do I call about stormwater filling my yard?
We clear blocked stormwater pits and pipes; because mapped flood planning applies to most of the suburb, those pits collect water from the street and the creek side both, so they need a proper clear-out.
Can you find a hidden leak without digging up the yard?
Yes: we trace hidden leaks from the meter and the bills, and a climbing Unitywater account with no change in habits usually means water is escaping somewhere it should not be.
What counts as a plumbing emergency?
Water you cannot stop, a toilet overflowing, no hot water or any smell of gas; with gas, leave the property first and call from outside, and never flick a switch on the way.
What should I do first when a pipe bursts?
Turn the water off at the meter, then call (07) 3067 4289; a split service line under a driveway can run for days unseen until the lawn or the kerb turns soggy.
Can a blocked sewer come up through my yard?
It can: when waterways flood, low-lying sewer connections force waste back up through the gully trap, so shut off the affected fixtures and have the main line inspected promptly.
Does every gas smell mean a leak?
Treat every gas smell as one: leave the property, call from outside, and do not look for the source yourself, because a small leak near an appliance or a bayonet point can turn serious fast.
Lawnton Conditions Questions
The part of the job the ground and the waterways decide:
Call (07) 3067 4289Who owns which pipes at a Lawnton property?
The water mains and the public sewer are maintained by Unitywater, but any pipe from the connection point onto your property, your branch drain included, is yours to look after.
Why do drains block so often in this suburb?
The 1960s subdivisions still lean on earthenware house drains, and the alluvial reactive clay beneath them shifts joints seasonally, so fine roots and silt sneak in long before any pipe actually fails.
Does the flood mapping change how plumbing works here?
It does: council mapping lists the bulk of the suburb as flood planning area after the January 2011 rise forced evacuations, so gully traps, pits and low connections all get tested each wet season.
How do I book a plumber in Lawnton?
Call (07) 3067 4289 and tell us what is happening: we will talk it through, quote the work before starting, and aim for a plumber on site the same day where we can.
